Doctoral Consortium
Call for Participation

Dear Ph.D. candidate,

We are delighted to extend an invitation for you to join a truly exceptional opportunity: the Doctoral Consortium (DC) at the 2025 ACM Symposium on Eye Tracking Research & Applications (ETRA 2025). The DC is not merely an academic event; it’s a gateway to a community of knowledge and collaboration where your ideas are at the forefront, engaging directly with leading eye-tracking experts as you embark on your research journey.

The DC provides a supportive environment for you to present your work, receive constructive feedback, and connect with seasoned researchers who understand the challenges of this field. We invite submissions from early doctoral students who are starting their studies on eye tracking research or eye tracking applications – submissions from Postdocs starting their research in these areas will also be considered.

Don’t miss this opportunity to share your research and grow alongside experts in the field. Submit your paper today—we’re excited to see your work shine!

Submissions

Participants will be selected based on a single-column, up to four-page submission (including references) using Overleaf, Word, or LaTeX and submitted via PCS. Submissions should not be anonymized. We recommend the following structure:
  • Abstract
  • Introduction, problem statement, and research objectives
  • State-of-the-art
  • Approach and method
  • Broader Impact
  • Preliminary results (if any)
  • Plans for future work
In addition to this document, authors should also submit (does not apply to Postdocs):
  • A concise CV (max. three pages)
  • A letter of recommendation from the student’s research advisor (max. one page). The letter should indicate how long the student has been enrolled in the doctoral program, discuss the status of the work, and why the student would benefit from participating in the DC at ETRA 2025

  • Finally, authors can suggest up to three academics or researchers who have published at ETRA in the past and that they would wish to receive mentorship from. The DC Chairs will do their best to match each student to a relevant senior academic during the event. Lastly, authors will be notified of acceptance by the organizing chairs, but an in-depth review will not be provided (this discussion will take place at the DC, in person). Accepted submissions will be included in the ETRA Adjunct Proceedings and published in the ACM Digital Library.
